Winn-Dixie offering $2 select heart medications

In support of Healthy Heart Month, all in-store pharmacies at Winn-Dixie stores are offering discounts on select generic heart medications. Throughout the month of February, Winn-Dixie pharmacies are offering eight common generic heart medications for $2 and one generic medication for free. Certain restrictions apply. The program is in addition to the company's everyday low price generics program, which offers $4, 30-day and $10, 90-day supplies as well as select free antibiotics and maintenance drugs. Gayle Shields, vice president of pharmacy for Southeastern Grocers, said February is "the perfect time to raise awareness of the importance of heart health." Shields noted: "Not everyone has insurance or health benefits that adequately cover prescription medication. This offer makes it easier for our customers to get the prescriptions they need at a great value so they can focus more on their health and less on their wallet."
